I was going to call this 'how to become a better artist', but then I realized, there is no such thing as a 'better artist'.  If you are an artist, you are the best artist you can be - your art can always ALWAYS improve, but you are already and always will be the best artist you can be.  Remembering those two facts is the most important thing you can do.

But other than that, find someone to be excited about art with!  They don't have to be an artist themselves, they just have to be able to get excited about art.  Having someone who'll always be around to listen to your ideas, even if they don't contribute anything, is HUGELY helpful to keep you motivated.  I've found that having someone for me to bounce ideas off of, or even just someone to explain my stories to, is my favourite thing in the world and almost always leads to me discovering new things about my stories and characters.

And now for the list of links you all were waiting for!
chima.deviantart.com/art/Varie… learn to draw faces differently, even if you want a super-cartoony style
ekuneshiel.deviantart.com/art/… spread those differences to the rest of their bodies too
solfieri.deviantart.com/art/Cl… clothing folds are IMPORTANT and really fun once you get the hang of them
vimeo.com/14631576 watch other people draw; lots of people do livestreams or post deadstreams
tracyjb.deviantart.com/art/Lac… learn to stretch your expressions, instead of just copypasting them from one face to the next
chima.deviantart.com/favourite… , I actually have a folder in my favourites called 'stuff to learn from', and I greatly suggest you make a similar one in your favourites so you will be motivated to find stuff to learn from and also so you can find the stuff you can learn from again easily - I also have one of these in my Chrome bookmarks for stuff that isn't on DA (that's where I'm getting all the links after this one)
tentopet.livejournal.com/12935… line weight is SO MUCH FUN and can not only add a three-dimensional quality to even lineart, it can also help you differentiate different parts of a picture with lots of detail (re: chima.deviantart.com/art/Welco… )
www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOqI4i… study different media and different ways of working with said media
beanjamish.deviantart.com/art/… even the people you idolize and who scare the snot out of you for being so awesome, study their work and find SOME WAY you're better than them, and suddenly you'll be like 'whoa wow I can totally do this art thing'
www.pokemonpapercraft.com/ do silly crafts just for the heck of it, and learn something about form while you're at it
random122.deviantart.com/art/M… don't be afraid of naked people
www.exrx.net/Store/OtherImages… or people without skin
illicitdreamer.deviantart.com/… learn different body types
www.last.fm/music/Marilyn+Mans… check out classy freaks and their fashion sense
www.polyvore.com/ don't put everyone in jeans and tshirts, or at least learn to draw all the cool little details on them like seams and fasteners and realistic folds bigbigtruck.tumblr.com/post/53…
www.austinkleon.com/2011/03/30… read what people have to say about art
theartofglenkeane.blogspot.com… read art blogs
upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia… don't be afraid of finding reference pictures to make your settings more interesting, and don't be afraid of super-complex backgrounds or perspective
inspirationalartworks.blogspot… draw from life
i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee… draw from Disney
www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=g… always look for new music, and don't shutter yourself into one genre - learn to love everything from rap to country to heavy metal, because they all can help you with different parts of your art
www.itchy-animation.co.uk/ligh… learn that light is pretty much the coolest thing in existence
i.imgur.com/uBYbJ.jpg remember that there will always be people to help you, and pick you up when you don't feel like an artist, and THERE ARE NO BORDERS'

and, critique people on DA! Find something good to say about their art, and then tell them something they can work on, and then say something else good about their art. If they flame you for it, then don't get down - it's just words on an internet screen. It's much more likely that they'll be grateful, anyways - too many people on DA are afraid to critique each other because of the flamers, and I believe there's tons of artists who came to DA to try to GET critique! I know I did!  And who knows, you might even make a friend, or get some tips from an artist you thought was too far out of your league to ever talk to you!

Never let go of your passion for art.  I wish everyone the best of luck!
